Can I nominate my own company or project?
If you look at the nomination form, we're asking a few technical questions regarding data back-up (i.e. number of site visits, users, comments, etc.) and overall level of expertise on the web. The judges will take into consideration the nominee's access to such data and overall story of the project. Essentially, they're looking for the best story told; whoever can tell that story the best should nominate that particular use of the web.
For example, if your company worked with a client who utilized your creativity, technology, and recommendations, we'd advise you to nominate that client. However, if your company developed something so incredibly technical or innovative for a client (like 3D animation, or a major online ad campaign), you may want to nominate yourself.
What area does the Frebbys serve? Does the nominee have to be from Fresno?
There are various partnership opportunities available for maximum impact for your brand. We can create and deliver unique ideas to leave lasting impressions to the Frebby Awards audience (students, creatives, business owners, web enthusiasts, techgeeks).

What kind of entries are you looking for? Who can I nominate?
Anyone who uses the web–for business or personal use–is qualified to enter as a nominee. You can nominate your business website, blog, email marketing campaigns, or you can nominate yourself. We expect to see projects such as websites, web applications (iPhone and iPad apps included), blogs, social media campaigns, and anything else done on the web. The Frebby Awards recognize individuals, businesses and organizations utilizing the web.
How did you choose the categories?
We've chosen seven categories that exemplify how the end-user utilizes the web. In order to recognize the various sub- disciplines of the web, the Frebby Awards will acknowledge those that stand out among others. Each expertise is necessary to achieve the overall purpose of the email, website, or other online tool. Although there is some overlap, the purpose or goals of the web most likely align with one of these categories.
How will you select the winners?
Nominations for each category will be rated on a 1 to 10 scale based upon creativity, innovation, effectiveness and expertise. We have a panel of qualified judges both from Fresno and outside of the region who will be focusing on the sub-disciplines of the web and a nominated project's impact to the end-user. Winners will be announced at the awards event on September 22.
Are promotional partners and/or judges eligible to win a Frebby?
We are pleased to partner with individuals, businesses, and organizations around the Valley to make the Frebby Awards possible. Several of our partners represent multiple clients, so it would be difficult not to include them in the nomination and award process. Judges are eligible for nominations, along with their work. However, judges are not allowed to nominate any projects. Furthermore, they are required to disclose connections to any nominations–if there's a connection to the work done, that judge must abstain from voting on the nomination.
What area does the Frebbys serve?
Does the nominee have to be from Fresno?
Nominations are valid if there is a tie to the Fresno region. The Fresno region is defined by what we consider to be the general media reach–approximately 45 minutes to one hour in each direction from the City of Fresno.
Either the project or nominee must connected to the Fresno region. For example, a programmer from Fresno can be nominated for his or her work on a web application used in Australia. Additionally, a business located in Clovis could be eligible to win a Frebby for a website created in Florida. Someone or some organization must be tied to the area in one way or the other.
